| Jean-Pierre Diernaz: defined European vision. |
Sales and marketing specialist Jean-Pierre Diernaz, 41, is taking over from Bastien Schupp as marketing director of Nissan’s luxury marque Infiniti in the AMIE (Africa, Middle East, India and Europe) region. Schupp becomes country director Austria, based in Vienna and reporting to managing director Nissan Cars Europe, Andreas Gabriel.
Diernaz, who joined Nissan Europe in 2005, began his career with Ford after graduating from ISG University in Paris.
Solid start
‘To be part of the team at Infiniti at this time is incredibly exciting,’ Diernaz tells ModernSelling.com.
‘The brand has made a solid start in Europe over the past 18 months, but now with the imminent launch of our diesel range and the M Line sedan arriving soon, the opportunity is there for Infiniti really to make its mark in Europe.
‘Helping guide Infiniti to achieving the growth I know it is capable of is going to be challenging but very rewarding. I am looking forward to it immensely.’
Geneva
Diernaz takes over in his new job immediately at Infiniti Europe's headquarters building in Rolle, outside Geneva. He reports to Infiniti AMIE vice-president Jim Wright.
Originally from the French Alps, Diernaz joined Nissan Europe as head of advertising and media in Europe. In 2007 he was promoted to general manager marketing communications, in which role he defined Nissan's vision in Europe, increasing brand awareness with some break-through campaigns.
