They do say bad news travels faster than good so, the bad news was that my last purchase of two twin packs of HP ink for my home office printer cost me in excess of £80 - which was more than the whole printer!
The further bad news is that the HP broke - but after 5 years use I wasn't that upset by that fact. The good news being that my local Staples also stock the Kodak ESP 3250 and, with 75% of the HP ink unused, I pretty well came out with a free replacement/new printer (plus spare ink, paper, insurance the works). Well no, £35 I think it all cost in extra cash, but we're holding up well so far, print quality is fine, no paper jams, pretty fast printing out the bulk copies of 50-60 sheets at a time we need to clean data, and about 25% of the ink costs in prospect. Nice.
A quick mention too for Steve Lunson at Staples, Dunstable who engineered this sale brilliantly, and turned a grumpy old moaner into a happy camper to boot. Thank you Steve.
