Hello Modern Selling - and I do mean you personally "Dear Reader" only I can't see who you are yet.
I'm Ian Jarvis, and I'm delighted to be partnering with ModernSelling.com and Publisher Neil Warren, and your Modern Selling LinkedIn Group colleagues as well, to bring you news of an exciting new National Exhibition for the whole UK Sales Profession. We're called Sales Director Live - and this year's event is happening at Olympia in London on Thursday and Friday the 22nd - 23rd November.
We're a very sociable bunch of people in selling and sales management, but it's all too rare that we have an opportunity to get together amongst ourselves, to compare notes and talk to solutions providers who are exploring the road ahead. We know one thing though, you can not only rely on death and taxes, you can also rely on change. We will not be selling - or managing and motivating a successful sales team - in 2013, the same way we did in 2003, 1993 or 1911. The Sales Managers' Association was formed in 1911 by the way, and guess what happened to that?
You might also know that Neil started publishing a print magazine for the Sales Directors and Managers amongst you way back in (the dark ages of) 1986. And if you want to have a browse through that history, and the circulation list that turned into a database and thus to the senior end of the email broadcast lists for ModernSelling.com, I know he'll be delighted to walk you through all that. In fact, running alongside your show will be The Business Show (combining The Great British Business Show and Business Start-Up), running twice a year so now our 28th exhibition and 14th year.
