Sales consultancy Silent Edge has signed a deal with Barclays Business to install the banking sector’s first Sales Academy using its unique and award-winning approach.

Silent Edge will objectively evaluate and develop the leadership skills of 280 of Barclays' Area Business and Relationship Directors.  Evaluations, based on industry best practice, are carried out in live selling situations and followed by tailored development workshops. 

Silent Edge delivers a sustainable solution giving an organisation’s leaders the skills to develop their sales teams using the same techniques, standards and benchmarks for which were achieved in partnership with top business schools, Cranfield and Ashridge.

Steve Cooper, Managing Director of Barclays Business, said: “We have expanded our portfolio of customers in Barclays Business.  We now manage customers turning over up to £5m and we want to give them all the best service in the industry.  In parallel to that I wanted to develop our community of ABD’s and RD’s to a best practice standard by establishing their current capability and then coaching them to that standard.
