It is truly astounding that the biggest single professional activity of UK business people is so far off the radar of the government, universities and schools that you’d think we didn’t even exist!

If you have children at any stage of a school or university education take a look, with them, at where any of these basic 3 R’s (Reading, Writing and Arithmetic) is leading. What do they want to be, when they grow up? Who is going to employ them, to do what?
Consider too the absolutely disgraceful UK waste tip of unemployed (and unemployable) Graduates, already £20-30,000 the poorer and in debt, who nobody seems to want, or need. And that’s a sum that only looks set to get even worse.
Graduates that nobody wants or needs that is unless, of course, they could SELL! (That’s the dreaded ‘S’ word that nobody wants to mention). Yes, it’s probably the most demanding and difficult of all the professions, except perhaps Brain Surgeon, but it pays the best too, for those that can do it properly, and they’ll find themselves to be the most popular of work mates, when they bring home the bacon and everyone else is “an overhead”.
So, sales tip of the week is – tell a child, or a friend’s child, that Selling is OK. And, if they’re really lucky, they might even be able to ask Russell Ward or Ren Kapur a few searching questions (practice questions for a sales career even – do your homework please) – when they Visit Our Schools.
