| Hyundai: more trendy. |
Hyundai, one of the manufacturers which has benefitted from recent turmoil in the automotive sector, has just signed three new fleet contracts in the North West. Averaging over 100 cars in each deal, the wins for the company’s growing fleet department total 270 vehicles across a mix of small and medium-sized businesses.
Deal 1
Liverpool-based company Educate and Training will take on nearly 80 cars as it grows its fleet.
Fleet manager Malcolm Swift said: ‘There are lots of reasons why we chose Hyundai. The long warranty was a big one and price. But not just list price, it’s the good whole life costs and the fact you get a lot of equipment as standard that you’d have to pay extra for from other brands. The CO2 figures are very good too and that means they’re good on benefit-in-kind taxation for our drivers.’
This was important for Educate and Training, which is expanding its fleet to a total of 150 vehicles and takes drivers out of grey fleet vehicles.
Deal 2
PWG Holdings operates four businesses in Warrington and will buy a minimum of 90 cars.
Commenting on the deal, director Paul Wright said: ‘There wasn’t one single reason we went with Hyundai, it was the overall package. The main reasons are that Hyundai cars are more trendy, better-priced in terms of contract hire rates and have an excellent warranty. We’re a vibrant and young company that’s growing and Hyundai reflect that well.’
Deal 3
Runcorn-based Select Security has picked Hyundai as part of a move to consolidate from a multi-badge fleet to a three-brand strategy and will add 100 Hyundais from across the range.

‘We looked at the price and saw that Hyundais could save our company money. Also, the quality of the product exceeded the price,’ said operations director Robert Bentley.
Value
Hyundai’s national corporate operations and remarketing manager Jeff Peyton-Bruhl is understandably enthusiastic about the wins.
The one-time Camden Corporate Fleet Services sales director told ModernSelling.com: ‘It’s great to see so many SME businesses growing their businesses and we’re happy to help them with our cars which are consistently and increasingly proving their value in the fleet arena.’
