| Flogos: made of helium-filled bubbles. |
Called Flogos (short for ‘flying logos’), the clouds range from two to four feet across and will float at altitudes of up to 20,000ft, though a more usual height is 300-500 feet.
Survive collisions
Made from helium-filled soap bubbles, they can travel for some 30 miles before melting and will even survive intact if they collide with a building.
The company maintains that Flogos are not harmful to the environment.
Inventor Francisco Guerra, has developed a machine which shapes the bubble clouds and pumps them into the sky every 15 seconds. His company, SnowMasters makes machines that create artificial snow for Hollywood films.
Deals with Disney and Universal
The company has already demonstrated a range of designs, including an axe head – the symbol of the Atlanta Braves – the peace symbol and Mickey Mouse. Disney and Universal Studios are among theme parks said to have deals with the company.
Guerra says: ‘Flogos are a revolutionary way to market products, services and events. It’s a shock factor when you look up and there’s a logo over your head.
Colour
‘In the future, we will be able to colour them,’ he adds. ‘For now, we like them only in white, because that’s what a cloud looks like.’
SnowMasters rents the cloud machines for $2,500 a day.
